In her debut collection for Arteriors, which features 40 items, Windsor Smith pares down iconic embellishments ranging from Greco-Roman architectural friezes to vintage jewelry. A traditionalist at heart, she embraces modernism with a nod to the classics. One fret of a Greek key border forms a table's leg, while wall lights dangle reminiscent of a lady's drop earring. The result is a series of furnishings that feel fresh and fashionable, yet warmly familiar.
Known internationally for elegant interiors layering old and new, Windsor made her mark designing highly personalized homes for leaders in the entertainment and business worlds. She works from Los Angeles, where clients expect surprising glamour alongside casual, day-to-day living. Named by Veranda as one of the top 25 design influencers in their 25 year history, Windsor is a voice for rethinking how design can counter today's rising demands on our homes, our time, and our senses. Her book, Homefront: Design for Modern Living (Rizzoli, 2015) was named one of the 20 top design books of 2015 by Architectural Digest.
"My goal for this collection," says Windsor, "is that each piece engage conversation. I want these to be well loved now and heirlooms tomorrow."
