Proper pendant placement is key to a well-lit kitchen workspace or a visually balanced dining space. Hang pendants 30–36 inches above your island or dining table, and if using multiples, space them about 24–36 inches apart.

• Oversized pendants work best in entryways, over dining tables, or in spacious living rooms with ceilings nine feet high and above. They need room to breathe and at least seven feet of clearance below.
• Small to medium pendants best suit kitchen islands, breakfast nooks, or bedside tables. Or for added drama, try a clustered installation of multiple small pendants.
